Glen Oaks Community College has launched a national search for its ninth president. The Glen Oaks Board of Trustees has engaged the Association of Community College Trustees as the presidential search firm as recommended by the Presidential Search Steering Committee of GOCC’s Board Trustees (Bruce Gosling, Kim Bontrager and Joseph Haas).
Applications and nominations for the position of President of Glen Oaks Community College are currently being accepted until the position is filled.

Candidates will need to have the following information or materials available to complete the application:
- A letter of application (not to exceed 5 pages) that succinctly addresses the opportunities and challenges identified in the Position Profile and demonstrates how the candidate’s experience and professional qualifications prepare them to serve as the President of Glen Oaks Community
- A current resume including an email address and cellular telephone number.
- A list of eight references: example, two to three supervisors, two to three direct reports, and two to three faculty and/or staff members from current and former institutions.

Glen Oaks establishes Presidential Search Committee for new president; David Devier will retire at end of June, 2024
The Glen Oaks Board of Trustees has announced the formation of a Presidential Search Committee to select a new college president. Dr. David Devier had announced earlier that he would be retiring effective June 30, 2024, after serving as the college president since January 2014. During last month’s meeting, the board approved moving forward with using the Association of Community College Trustees as the presidential search firm as recommended by the Presidential Search Steering Committee

December 2023 | Search Committee training and orientation; Committee receives, reviews, and edits the draft Presidential Profile. Board of Trustees meeting to discuss, edit, and finalize the Presidential Profile. |
December 2023 | Position is open and advertised. Presidential Profile is posted on glenoaks.edu and acctsearches.org. Targeted local, state-wide, and national one-to-one recruitment commences; national advertisements placed. |
February 16, 2024 | Target Date for Receipt of Applications. Position open until filled. |
Late February 2024 | Search Committee Meeting: discussion and selection of confidential semifinalist candidates. |
Mid-March 2024 | Search Committee Meeting: confidential in-person interviews with semifinalists. The Committee deliberates and selects finalists to forward to the Board for further consideration. |
Late April 2024 | Finalists interview with the Board, tour campus and sites, participate in open public forums, meet with direct reports. |
May 2024 | Board of Trustees announces the next President of Glen Oaks Community College. |
July 1, 2024 | Start date for next President or as agreed upon by the President-elect and Board. |
